This season Mary has been one of the market’s most prolific marketing volunteers. She’s written insightful pieces on her experience of using SNAP and the Everybody Eats program at the market. She has also interviewed vendors, shared recipes, and written about her time volunteering at the market on Sundays with special events like Taste of the Market and POP Club.
“My favorite volunteer experience has been writing for the newsletter. This has given me the chance to develop relationships with some of the vendors, participate in several events at the market, and experience the sense of community that I think is the most important part of being in the Montavilla neighborhood. I started volunteering at the market as a way to show my appreciation for the Everybody Eats program. I will keep volunteering because I always have a good time no matter what I’m doing, and everyone involved makes me feel welcome and appreciated. How can you pass up an opportunity like that?”
