The beginning of June brings early summer flavors to the Montavilla Farmers Market! Yolkan Farm (formerly Amaro’s Produce ) will have first-of-the-season Mt. Hood strawberries along with fresh basil, cilantro, and young spring onions. Their spring onions have a sweetness when lightly caramelized on the grill that make them the perfect side to any summer dish. Be sure to stop by Simplicity Gardens and Denison Farms shared stall for some of their new potatoes and fresh green fava beans, and the first of the season’s tomatoes.
Cool off at the market with Aviv’s ice cream. Their creamy ice cream is made with coconut milk as a base, making it vegan and non-dairy! For an unconventional flavor try their hatch-chile ice cream. Hatch chilis are scattered throughout the vanilla ice cream base, which starts sweet and ends with a spicy kick!
The distiller at market for June 3rd is Stone Barn Brandyworks. Sample their Cranberry Liqueur. It is delicious, and dangerously drinkable!
Maryhill Fruit Co. is bringing their cherries, apricots, and pluots.
Crooked Furrow Farm out of Corvallis will be at the market with fresh produce and eggs!
Good Moon brings their adzuki bean moon cakes. These are one of highest selling items at Elephants Deli on Corbett! The adzuki bean has been called Jewel of the East, because it is so rich in antioxidants.
T Bee S continues the sweetness over at their booth with a wide range of local honey products all from their 500 hives! Stop by to see them for propolis, royal jelly, pollen, and CBD honey products.
New vendors starting this month are: Dancing Kitchen — featuring delicious, gluten-free baked goods. One Stripe Chai — your source for spicy chai concentrates. Albeke Farms and Liepold Farms— for berries galore!
End your trip to the market with a visit to Mixteca. They hand-press the blue corn tortillas that hold their delicious chicken mole tacos!
Stop by and see Erika at her face painting table. She can transform your little one into a tiger, kitty, flower garden, or Spider-Man! She will be there from 10:30a – 1:30p, making your trip a memorable event for your children! We’ll also be hearing from several of Montavilla’s own musicians playing every week in June.
