On October 15th we’ve got three cooking workshops for kids and teens that are free and open to the public. In each workshop, youth will learn to cook one dish using fresh market produce and then get to eat their creations. The workshops are designed and taught by kids-cookery expert Beth Gates of Cook First PDX. She’ll be teaching participants a few basic cooking skills during the course of one recipe, growing their confidence and inspiring them to explore the fun and adventure of making their own meals.
Details:
- The morning workshop at 11:00 AM will feature a recipe aimed at 5- to 10-year-olds to make with an adult.
- The afternoon workshops at 12:00 and 1:00 PM are tailored for youth ages 11-18 (but children as young as 8 can attend if an adult accompanies them).
- Each workshop is about 30-45 minutes. A different recipe using seasonal market ingredients will be taught at each workshop. All recipes are vegetarian and gluten-free.
